SATB unaccompanied (c. 5:00)

A "credo" is, at its core, a general statement of beliefs which guide the way one operates in the world. This can be attached to any number of faith traditions, but ultimately we each develop a "credo" for ourselves which is unique to our own perception and understanding of life. I was struck by the broad appeal to humanity in this poem, and by its inclusionary message. When we find the will to love one another without condition, we have found the essence of our shared experience. Love creates connection, inspires discovery, and facilitates joy. I call on you to sing and live the will to love.

This piece was written for Tactus and premiered by the ensemble at Concordia College on April 12th, 2025.
